New Amsterdam is shelving an approaching episode about a flu pandemic out of respect for the existing coronavirus crisis sweeping the world.
“The earth wants a whole lot much less fiction appropriate now, and a great deal much more points,” collection creator David Schulner writes in an essay for Deadline. “We confirmed what occurs when our healthcare facility has to erect tents in the parking large amount since each and every mattress is taken. Currently, we woke up to photographs of the military erecting tents to serve as makeshift morgues outside the house Bellevue healthcare facility as New York is bracing for potential surge in coronavirus victims. Often, what the mirror reflects again is far too horrifying to look at.” (Simply click in this article to examine the relaxation of his essay.)
With the pandemic episode — initially scheduled to air on April 7 — shelved, New Amsterdam now has only just one concluded episode remaining to air. So next two weeks of reruns airing March 31 and April seven (in a new 9/8c time slot), the Period 2 finale will land on Tuesday, April 14.
(Side observe: If it will help acquire out the sting of a shortened period, just keep in mind that New Amsterdam was not too long ago renewed for three additional seasons. It is not heading anyplace.)
In a stroke of regrettable irony, Daniel Dae Kim — who not too long ago examined favourable for coronavirus — visitor stars in this episode as a medical professional who joins the struggle against the pandemic.
