March 26, 2009: Old Town resident Matthew Cushing, 22, is sentenced to everyday living in jail for stabbing his mother, his stepfather and his fifty percent brother to loss of life at their residence in Previous Orchard Beach and environment their house on hearth to address his tracks.
The court sentences him to 3 existence phrases for the murder convictions. He also was identified responsible of arson.
Cushing provided no explanation for the Feb. 20, 2008, crimes but acknowledged his guilt. Assistant Attorney Common Lisa Marchese stated he killed his family members mainly because his mother, Carol Bolduc, and his stepfather, Christopher Bolduc, both equally 42, had been getting a divorce and Cushing didn’t feel his mother could support herself.

Marchese explained Cushing’s preparation and the timeline of functions showed premeditation of just about every crime. Cushing traveled from his Aged City apartment carrying a stun gun and a knife, and he had plenty of time among the murders to look at stopping. He also utilized the world wide web to research techniques to kill individuals.
