Roger Goodell Sends Memo Announcing NFL Draft To Go On As Planned


The NFL Draft formally will go on as prepared.
Commissioner Roger Goodell on Thursday despatched a memo to teams asserting “The Committee was unanimous and unequivocal that the Draft really should go ahead as scheduled on April 23-25, 2020.” ESPN’s Adam Schefter received the comprehensive memo.

The announcement will come just two days immediately after the league reportedly pushed to not transfer the Draft thanks to the coronavirus outbreak. Because of this, Goodell wrote in the memo the Draft “will be performed and televised in a way that reflects present problems.”
Mainly because services are closed, the commish is telling teams and draftees to prepare appropriately and to limit the volume of men and women existing.
“Teams really should be performing the needed planning to carry out Draft functions in a locale outside of your facility, with a constrained selection of men and women present, and with enough technological know-how methods to … communicate with other clubs and Draft headquarters,” the statement said.
Working day 1 of the draft will take location April 23.
